Your Opportunity

Stantec is actively seeking an entry level Transportation Technologist to grow our Transportation group in Kamloops, BC.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Uses knowledge of the general concepts of relevant civil engineering elements including the design of transportation and bridge projects.
  • Prepares or assists with the preparation of quantity calculations, cost estimates, and contract drawings and documents.
  • Schedule, coordinate and conduct onsite observations and inspections with internal and external parties as required.
  • Collect field data, compile field notes and photographs, and file and manage project related data.
  • Prepare documents and maintain file management of project-related information including, but not limited to, correspondence, reports, videos and photos.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of safety controls, lead safety meetings and actively promote safety and a safe work culture in the workplace.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design.
  • Ability to work with others on large complex projects that require teamwork and close collaboration, in a very fast paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the project team, obtaining and sharing necessary information.
  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and scheduling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Foundational proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MicroStation and InRoads is strongly preferred, with a willingness to learn additional software skills for relevant design software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Education and Experience

  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 0-5 years of experience. Co-op/Internship experience preferred.

Pay Range:

• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$50,100.00 - $67,600.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
