Delivered at the FAFU International College in Fuzhou, China.

This exciting international teaching provides an opportunity to gain experience in teaching a specialized course in English to Chinese students in the Landscape Architecture program. The FAFU International College is a relatively new collaboration between Dalhousie University and the Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University which presently delivers programs in Landscape Architecture and Agricultural Economics.

The instructor will be an employee of Dalhousie University and will be provided orientation and training before leaving for China. Other Dalhousie instructors are likely to be present at FAFU at the same time. This position reports to the Chair of the Department, however, the instructor will also be supported by a Canadian Program Coordinator and the Associate Dean FAFU International College. Accommodation and a meal allowance will be provided by FAFU, and Dalhousie will provide transportation between Halifax NS and Fuzhou, China.

LARC1010 Studio 1: Introduction to Design is the first studio course offered to the Landscape Architecture students. It will support development of design skills through observation, study, and practice. The Part-Time Academic position will teach in-person Lectures and Labs in English. The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of preparing, teaching and administering the lectures and labs, including test preparation, evaluation and learning management system operation. As student enrollment is expected to exceed 100 students, the course is expected to be split into two sections. For each section, a total of 48 hours of lecture/studio contact time with students is expected in addition to course and final exam preparation, delivery and grading. Travel to China will occur in early March and return in late-June 2026.
