Adecco is currently hiring a Design Engineer – Site Development for a full-time opportunity based in Kitchener, ON. This role is ideal for a civil engineering professional who enjoys working on land development and site design projects that help shape growing communities. You will be part of a multidisciplinary environment delivering innovative and technically sound civil engineering solutions.

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and leading the preparation of civil design packages for residential and ICI development projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet municipal standards and client expectations.

  • Pay Rate: $100,000 – $120,000/year

  • Location: Kitchener, ON

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • Contract: Permanent

  • Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the preparation of civil engineering design drawings and documentation for site development projects, including OPA, ZBA, and SPA applications

  • Perform and review engineering design work related to grading, stormwater management, sanitary and water systems, and site servicing

  • Review functional servicing and stormwater management reports for technical accuracy and completeness

  • Evaluate project requirements and contribute to the development of effective design solutions

  • Coordinate with project managers, CAD technicians, junior designers, clients, and external consultants to ensure project alignment and delivery

  • Review and address municipal and agency comments related to development applications

  • Participate in internal and external project meetings and provide technical input throughout project lifecycles

  • Review, seal, and ensure quality control of engineering design documents prepared by self and others

  • Support compliance with municipal standards and approvals processes across Southwestern Ontario

  • Contribute to project efficiency through strong coordination, communication, and technical problem-solving

  • Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Applied Science, or a related discipline

  • 4–10 years of experience in civil/site development engineering

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and municipal design standards

  • Experience with site development and land development projects in Ontario

  • Proficiency with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling tools (e.g., MIDUSS, SWMHYMO, HEC-RAS, FlowMaster, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Familiarity with municipal approvals processes (OPA, ZBA, SPA)

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
