The expected salary for this position is $173,600 per annum.

The Faculty of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time Hospital/Geriatric Dentistry faculty position in the Department of Oral Health Sciences at UBC. This tenure-stream Educational Leadership appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor of Teaching, with consideration of a higher rank depending on qualifications. Applicants must have completed a General Practice Residency or equivalent Hospital Residency program or Graduate Program with a focus on Geriatrics. They must also be a licensed (or eligible) with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP) as a dentist or dental specialist (completed training in a North American accredited program or completed a Canadian Dental Specialty Assessment and Training Program). Preference will be given to individuals whose contributions could enhance existing academic programs at the Faculty of Dentistry.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate teaching excellence in Geriatric Dentistry/Hospital Dentistry and willingness to support clinical supervision of learners at the university and affiliated community clinics. Graduate degrees, such as MSc, PhD degrees, or equivalent, are considered strong assets. Dental Specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dental Anaesthesia, as well as general/hospital dentists with expertise in Geriatric Dentistry are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise clinical care focused on Geriatric Dentistry in the pre- and post-doctoral dentistry programs, including the General Practice Residency Program, and Graduate Specialty Programs. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate teaching proficiency in clinical settings involving frail and functionally dependent older adults both on and off-campus, including long-term care facility residents. A key component of this faculty appointment will involve development and delivery of a novel post graduate Clinical Fellowship in Geriatric Dentistry at UBC. The expected salary for this position is $173,600 per annum.
