We are seeking a forward-thinking AI Engineering Specialist to join our innovative team and drive the future of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between emerging AI technologies and real-world insurance applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching and evaluating market-available AI models, and then designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions that will transform our core processes, including claims, underwriting, and customer engagement. You will be at the forefront of technological innovation, leveraging your expertise in data, AI models, and responsible AI to create impactful and scalable applications.

What to expect

  • Market Research & Model Evaluation: Proactively investigate and assess benchmark third-party and open-source AI models (including LLMs, RNN GAN, and predictive analytics) for their potential application to P&C insurance use cases.
  • AI Application Development: An AI Engineer is focused on the practical application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to create intelligent systems and solve real-world problems. Design and build end-to-end AI-powered applications to enhance key insurance functions. This includes developing solutions for automated claims processing, underwriting decision support, fraud detection, and personalized customer service. Develop and integrate AI services such as LLM-powered APIs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and agent orchestration logic into secure, production-grade environments.
  • System & Data Integration: Architect and implement robust integrations between AI services and our core insurance platforms using API-first and microservices-based approaches. Design and optimize data models, feature stores, and storage patterns to ensure performance, reliability, and governance across AI workloads.
  • Responsible AI & Governance: Champion and implement Responsible AI principles to ensure that all models and applications are fair, transparent, explainable, and compliant with industry regulations. Write production-quality code, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot performance issues, and continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and observability
  • Cloud Platform Utilization: Leverage cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud for Insurance to build, train, and deploy scalable and secure AI solutions.
  • Proof-of-Concept to Production: Lead the full lifecycle of AI projects, from initial ideation and rapid prototyping (Proof-of-Concept) to full-scale deployment and continuous monitoring (MLOps).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, underwriters, claim adjusters, and product managers to identify high-impact opportunities and ensure AI solutions deliver measurable business value.
  • Problem-Solving & Technical Guidance : Anticipate and resolve complex technical problems, providing direction and hands-on support to teams. Possess strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across data platforms, pipelines, and integrations.

What you bring

  • AI & Machine Learning: Understanding various AI and ML techniques, including NLP, computer vision, and predictive modeling. Experience developing and integrating AI-powered systems such as LLM applications, RAG pipelines, or agent-based workflows.
  • Data Expertise: A strong understanding of data structures, data modeling, and pipelines. Experience with both structured (e.g., policy and claims data) and unstructured data (e.g., documents, images, audio).
  • Cloud Computing: Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (Google Cloud, or AWS). Specific experience with Google Cloud, Gemini is a significant asset.
  • AI Integration: Experience designing and working with A2A, MCP, Agentic RAG, and including conventional microservices, and event-drive architecture.
  • Broad AI Skill: Experience with MLOps practices and tools, including containerization with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with AI-Observability metrics, and Agentic Red-Teaming practices.
  • AI Integration: Exposure in designing and working with A2A, MCP, Agentic RAG, and including conventional microservices, and event-drive architecture.
  • Responsible AI: Knowledge of the principles and best practices for building ethical, fair, and transparent AI systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex business problems in the insurance domain and translate them into effective AI-driven solutions.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Innovation Mindset: A passion for staying current with the latest advancements in AI and identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technological role, with proven hands-on experience in building and deploying production-grade systems.
  • P&C Insurance Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with core insurance processes such as underwriting, claims management, and pricing is a desired skill.
