Adecco is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Thunder Bay, ON. This role is suited to an experienced structural engineering professional who is ready to take a leadership role in delivering complex building and infrastructure projects within a multidisciplinary consulting environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering structural engineering work across a variety of project types, including commercial, industrial, and residential developments. This position involves leading design activities from early-stage development through to completion, providing technical oversight, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. You will also contribute to business development efforts, mentor junior team members, and support field and construction-related activities.
Salary: $115,000 – $145,000

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Responsibilities
Lead structural design on multi-discipline projects from proposal stage through to completion
Perform structural analysis and design for commercial, industrial, and residential building structures using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
Prepare technical reports, drawings, calculations, and specifications
Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables
Provide structural input on proposals, fee estimates, and business development initiatives
Conduct site visits, field reviews, inspections, and construction support activities
Review shop drawings and contractor submissions for compliance and accuracy
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, and technologists
Ensure projects meet quality standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff
Requirements
Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus
Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience
Strong technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and code compliance
Experience managing projects, budgets, and engineering deliverables
Eligible for or registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (other jurisdictions considered an asset)
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and structural design/analysis tools considered an asset
Willingness to travel for site work and field inspections as required
Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required security clearances
