Adecco is currently hiring a full-time motivated Pricing Analyst to support pricing strategy execution and margin optimization across retail operations for our client in North York, ON. This role is responsible for analyzing sales, margin, and competitive pricing data to recommend and implement pricing actions that drive revenue growth and profitability. In this role you will work closely with stores, category teams, merchandising, and regional leadership to support pricing initiatives and resolve pricing‑related issues.

  • Pay Rate: $45.00/hour

  • Location: North York, ON

  • Shift: 9:00am – 5:00pm

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 6-month contract with possibility of extension

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maximizing regular sales and margin rate/dollars and accountable to deliver annual margin rate improvements. The incumbent will provide support to, and liaise with, stores, internal departments and regional teams regarding pricing initiatives, issues and opportunities.

  • Analyzes and recommends changes to ensure that each product is priced and each store is assigned to zones in accordance to client Pricing Strategy.

  • Analyzes and monitors category sales, units and margin rate/dollars to maximize regular sales and margin rate/dollars.

  • Analyzes regional Competitive Price Index to ensure indices are in line with client's Pricing Strategy by changing product retails.

  • While conducting all activities, be able to identify and proactively act upon any regular sales and margin rate/dollars opportunities and challenges.

  • Analyses and recommends the price zone assignment to be implemented in new capital stores and coordinates with all parties.

  • Analyzes weekly Flyer items and creates Corporate Brand Shielding items to increase Corporate Brands sales and maximize category regular sales and margin dollars.  Coordinates skus with Inventory Management to ensure high service level.

  • Investigates and addresses inquiries on pricing from stores and/or customers and make necessary adjustments.

  • Creates Category Retail Reviews (a comprehensive review of all skus by zone including relationships between brands, sizes, competitors, etc.) resulting in retail change recommendations to maximize category regular sales and margin rate/dollars.

  • Reviews, recommends and maintains the relevancy of Key Value Indicator skus.

  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Category Managers, Regional Directors, District Managers, etc.) to resolve pricing issues and drive forward various pricing initiatives

  • Develop store level communication: direction, reference, etc.

  • Prepares ad hoc analyses for management requests. 

  • Recommends and executes price changes based upon observations of competitive retails observed while on periodic store audits.

  • Supports Merchandising Promotions team in the resolution of pricing related issues in promotional events.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • This position requires a demonstrated level of analysis capability, initiation and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects. 

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to a university degree in business, finance, economics or a related field

  • Minimum 2 years of business analysis or equivalent experience

  • Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced MS Office skills ( Excel, Word, Access)

  • Able to calculate financial impacts under multiple scenarios,

  • Able to write complex formulas that can apply be applied to multiple different items at a time

  • Experience writing SQL queries and using Power Query (or similar platform) to join data from multiple sources

  • Financial analysis skills

  • Strong analytical ability, problem solving and attention to detail

  • Ability to work with all levels of management

  • Store experience is considered an asset

  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.  

  • Understanding of pricing strategies

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
