Daily maintenance work requires thorough planning to ensure quality, efficiency, cost control, and safe execution. The planner is responsible for evaluating each job in detail—identifying the steps, materials, equipment, and manpower needed while prioritizing prevention and worker health and safety. This role focuses on planning work related to piping, pressure equipment (such as exchangers and tanks), insulation, carpentry, and day labor. Success in the role depends on close collaboration with other planners, Operations and Maintenance coordinators, trade supervisors, and the scheduler.

  • Strong compensation: we offer competitive compensation, regional-based uplifts, annual bonuses, and long-term financial rewards. We also help you save for your future by offering pension programs, and savings plans with company matching

  • Benefits: utilize an employee assistance program and comprehensive company-paid health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family to support your mental, physical, and financial well-being

  • Generous time-off: enjoy generous paid vacation time and personal time-off to recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance

  • Talent development programs: Internal mobility, succession planning, and employee training and development programs are just a few ways we’re dedicated to your development

Minimum requirements:

  • 5+ years of planning and/or estimating experience in piping, boilermaker, petrochemical, or industrial environments

  • Strong technical and trade knowledge, including materials, parts, task sequencing, and safe work planning along with knowledge of construction trades

  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat, and SAP (preferred)

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast‑paced high stress environment

  • Must be proficient in English

  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Don’t have all the qualifications listed? That’s ok! Apply anyway. We acknowledge the value of transferable skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in the prioritization and updating of all maintenance work from planning to execution

  • Visit work sites to identify specific hazards associated with the work and develop safe execution plans to reduce these hazards

  • Interact with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance departments to provide appropriate corrective action and repair methods to problems identified in work lists

  • Evaluate and establish tasks in sequence to improve efficiency and maximize the use of manpower according to its versatility and determine the tasks of each person

  • Make reservations and purchases for materials required to complete the work

  • Identify the need for service providers and ensure their availability and ability to carry out the mandates entrusted to them

  • Provide continuous improvement by developing standard task lists for repetitive work

  • Plan major shutdown projects, and occasionally assist in administrative and onboarding tasks

Your work location, schedule and other relevant information:

  • You will work in our Montreal office, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East

  • Normal working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
