Adecco is currently hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for a full-time, permanent opportunity with our client in Bedford, NS. This role is ideal for a highly skilled and hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical aptitude and experience working in heavy industrial or plant environments.

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, performing repairs on plant machinery, and ensuring all mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently. You will also support preventative maintenance programs, fabrication work, and equipment installation while adhering to strict safety standards.

  • Salary: $26.50/hour (vacation paid hourly)

  • Location: Bedford, NS

  • Schedule: 40–50 hours per week (8-hour or 12–14-hour shifts as required)40–50 hours per week (8-hour or 12–14-hour shifts as required)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs on plant machinery

  • Assemble, install, and adjust bearings, bushings, shafts, gears, and related components

  • Conduct inspections, lubrication, and preventative maintenance

  • Repair or replace parts using hand tools, power tools, torches, and welding equipment

  • Fabricate or rebuild components as required

  • Operate power tools and gas/electric welding equipment

  • Perform site hazard assessments and follow all safety protocols

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspaces

  • Support additional maintenance duties as required

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial or plant equipment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and boiler systems

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems

  • Experience with carpentry, welding, plumbing, mechanical repair, or fabrication

  • Construction industry experience is considered an asset

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Willingness to travel within Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI

  • Ability to work in loud, heavy industrial environments and varying weather conditions

  • Physically able to walk, stand, kneel, squat, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
