As a Electrician Apprentice, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services to our clients and customers. If you are looking for a company that is constantly moving forward in pursuit of successful outcomes, get ready to love it here! 

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, plus on-call

Internal applications for this position within the UFCW bargaining unit must be received within 7 days of this position being posted to have seniority considered.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Works under the supervision of licensed electricians to learn and develop practical electrical trade skills
  • Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including conduit installation, wire pulling, device installation, and connections
  • Gains hands-on experience with control systems, lighting, power distribution, and life safety systems
  • Supports troubleshooting activities while learning safe and effective diagnostic techniques
  • Participates in renovation, construction, and maintenance projects to build well-rounded trade experience
  • Assists with safety inspections and fire alarm panels and detection systems when authorized
  • Learns to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Uses power tools, hand tools, meters, and testing equipment safely and correctly under supervision
  • Follows all electrical codes, safety regulations, and organizational health and safety standards
  • Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas, including shared shop responsibilities
  • Documents completed work through work orders and maintenance records as part of learning industry practices
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors, team members, and departments regarding job status and work progress
  • Manages time appropriately, including adherence to scheduled start times, breaks, and end times
  • Successfully completes required in-school apprenticeship training and technical education at each level of the program
  • Maintains satisfactory progress in both on-the-job training hours and classroom learning to advance through apprenticeship levels
  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to learning the electrical trade 

What we’re looking for: 

  • Secondary school diploma required
  • Electrical techniques or Electrical Technician training is considered an asset
  • Registered, or eligible to register, as an Electrical Apprentice in Ontario
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with control telecommunications, control systems, and life safety systems Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and email
  • Knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints and technical drawings
  • Capable of safely operating required power tool
