Adecco is currently hiring a full-time CSA Field Engineer and Quality Assurance – Projects to join our client’s team in Fort McMurray, AB. You will provide on‑site engineering, technical, and quality support to construction activities. The role ensures work is executed safely, compliantly, and in alignment with engineering design, quality standards, and project milestones. This position works closely with contractors, construction management, engineering, and commissioning teams to resolve field issues, support quality assurance, and ensure successful project delivery and turnover.
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Shift: 8x6 day shift rotation. Return flights from Calgary or Edmonton hub and camp accommodation provided

Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
Actively participate in company safety programs including Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA), Critical Control Assurance (CCA), and contractor safety meetings
Apply company, industrial, and job‑specific requirements practically to construction activities
Promote a strong safety culture across all site activities
Engineering & Technical Support
Respond promptly to field inquiries, RFIs, and Field Change Notices (FCNs) with practical, constructible solutions
Conduct field visits for issue analysis, collaborate with contractors and construction teams, coordinate with vendors and the Engineer of Record, and perform engineering calculations when required
Assist construction contractors with interpretation of drawings and specifications
Construction & Project Support
Support the projects team in achieving key milestones
Assist in the development of Work Packages, including scope definition and provision of technical data for field‑issued contracts
Review engineering and construction work packages for errors or omissions and translate findings into placeholders within the turnover management system
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other QA documentation in a timely manner
Perform progressive review of QA exhibits produced by contractor personnel
Witness field activities as required by discipline‑specific ITPs
Initiate Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required
Perform quality surveillance and audits to verify contractor adherence to project, industry, and job‑specific requirements
Review contractor construction quality procedures
Conduct progressive inspections to identify deficiencies and communicate findings to contractors
Inspections, Completion & Turnover
Lead Installation Work Package (IWP), construction, and final walkdowns to identify and record deficiencies
Support closure of deficiencies through technical guidance and supplemental field verification
Review redline documentation to ensure alignment with completed field work and approved project changes
Review final project turnover packages to verify document completeness and accuracy
Participate in mechanical completion activities and the transfer of care, custody, and control
Review and close out FCNs, DCNs, and NCRs
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Alberta, with the ability to authenticate professional work products
Familiarity with Alberta and National Building Codes (CSA)
Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
Strong communication, coordination, and relationship‑building skills
Ability to provide practical, field‑based engineering solutions
Contractor field coordinators, foremen, superintendents, and QA personnel to coordinate inspections and resolve construction issues
Construction management teams to address constructability and technical concerns
Project management teams to provide engineering support
Project commissioning teams and owner representatives during inspections and technical discussions
Engineer of Record to align on design clarifications and practical field solutions
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
