Adecco is currently hiring a Municipal Engineer for a full-time opportunity based in Thunder Bay, ON. This role is ideal for a motivated engineering professional looking to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects that support communities and public services.

As a Municipal Engineer, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of a variety of infrastructure projects, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and sustainable engineering solutions. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept development to construction support.

  • Pay Rate: $90,000 – $120,000/year

  • Location: Thunder Bay, ON

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • Contract: Permanent

  • Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, water systems, and wastewater networks

  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

  • Support construction activities through site visits, inspections, and contractor coordination

  • Participate in the preparation of reports, studies, and contract documents

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including municipalities, contractors, and regulatory agencies

  • Contribute to proposal development and project planning activities

  • Support contract administration including monitoring project progress, timelines, and budgets

  • Assist in solving technical challenges by developing practical and efficient engineering solutions

  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams from initial concept through to completion

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and promote a strong safety culture on all projects

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • P.Eng designation or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) status

  • 0–5 years of experience in municipal or transportation infrastructure projects

  • Familiarity with infrastructure design including roads, drainage systems, water mains, and wastewater systems

  • Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Understanding of municipal standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements is an asset

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
