Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our client’s building maintenance team in Ajax, ON. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and upkeep of company facilities. Working under general supervision, this role performs a wide range of manual, maintenance, and repair tasks to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient workplace environment. The position supports office and plant operations and responds effectively to maintenance needs, renovations, and emergency situations.

  • Pay Rate: $35.08/hour

  • Location: Ajax, ON

  • Schedule: 7:30am – 4:30pm

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 5-week assignment

Responsibilities:

  • Perform work related to the operation and maintenance of company facilities under general supervision

  • Carry out manual duties involving basic repairs, servicing, and maintenance of plant equipment, buildings, and properties

  • Operate tools and equipment commonly used in facilities maintenance in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

  • Clear snow and apply salt to walkways and pathways as required to maintain safe access

  • Conduct minor repairs to physical resources and portable assets

  • Support renovation projects, including but not limited to:

    • Painting

    • Installation of flooring and carpets

    • Drywall repairs

    • Door installation and general repairs

  • Assist with office and plant layout changes to meet operational needs

  • Liaise with external service providers and contractors including cleaners, security providers, waste haulers, grounds maintenance, plumbing and electrical contractors, building trades, furniture suppliers, and others

  • Respond effectively to emergency and crisis situations

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable legislation and standards

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in facilities or building maintenance

  • Working knowledge of:

    • HVAC systems

    • Energy management

    • Natural gas systems

    • Plumbing systems

    • Electrical systems maintenance and operation

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent customer service skills when working with internal teams and external suppliers

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently

  • Demonstrated capability to manage emergency or crisis situations efficiently and calmly

  • Familiarity with the Controlled Goods Program

  • Demonstrated understanding of:

    • Ontario Building Code

    • Industry standards

    • Company policies and procedures

    • WHMIS

    • Occupational Health and Safety Act

  • Ability to use relevant computer software and internal systems for maintenance tracking and communication

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
