Adecco is currently hiring an Intermediate Structural Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Thunder Bay, ON. This role is ideal for a motivated structural engineering professional with experience in building and infrastructure design who is looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

This position involves working on a wide range of commercial, industrial, and residential structural projects, supporting design from concept through to completion. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions, preparing technical documentation, and contributing to project coordination and delivery. The role also includes mentorship opportunities and involvement in proposal development and client-facing technical discussions.

  • Salary: $100,000 – $120,000

  • Location: Thunder Bay, ON

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday

  • Contract: Full-time | Permanent

  • Vacancy Status: Current vacancy

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support structural design for commercial, industrial, and residential building projects

  • Manage structural components of multi-discipline projects from proposal stage through to completion

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and deliverables

  • Prepare technical reports, design calculations, drawings, and construction documents

  • Contribute to proposal writing and project planning activities

  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff and support personnel

  • Participate in site visits, field reviews, and construction inspections as required

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations

  • Support project coordination, client communication, and design review meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience

  • Strong technical background in structural analysis, design, and code interpretation

  • Experience with project management, including budgets and scheduling

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Eligible for or registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (other jurisdictions considered an asset)

  • Ability to work across a variety of project types and industries

  • Willingness to travel for site visits and fieldwork as required

  • Valid G driver’s license required

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
