Adecco is currently hiring a Associate Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Ottawa, ON. This role is ideal for a highly technical and research-driven professional with strong experience in real-time operating systems, system software development, and complex distributed computing environments.

As a Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to next-generation RTOS technology across embedded devices, cloud and virtualized computing, and automotive domains. You will work on solving complex system-level challenges related to scheduling, resource allocation, isolation, and inter-process communication, while also developing tooling to address system performance challenges.

  • Salary: $47/hour

  • Location: Ottawa, ON

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday

  • Contract: Temp-to-perm potential

  • Vacancy Status: This posting is for a candidate transitioning from another agency to Adecco.

Responsibilities

  • Explore real-time OS research and development targeting embedded devices, cloud, virtualized computing, and automotive domains

  • Contribute to the development of next-generation real-time operating system technology for multiple compute platforms

  • Solve complex system challenges including scheduling, resource allocation, isolation, and IPC in advanced system use cases

  • Develop tooling and solutions to address performance challenges in complex systems

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Experience in real-time operating system design, development, and integration

  • Strong experience in system software development (C/C++)

  • Knowledge of CPU architecture for system software development

  • Ability to research complex technical topics and translate findings into practical system designs

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to document and present technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
