Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Assembly Team Leader to join our client’s manufacturing team in Ajax, ON.  In this role you will be responsible for leading Assembly and Assembly Support teams, driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing budgets, optimizing workflows, and ensuring compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, extensive assembly experience, and a solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes.

**As this role is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program (CGP) the qualifying applicants must possess Canadian Citizenship or permanent residency status. A work permit status is not eligible for this role.

  • Pay Rate: $48-$51 per hour

  • Location: Ajax, ON

  • Schedule: 7:30 am to 4 pm (M-T) 7:30 am to 12:30 pm (Friday)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all operational activities within the Assembly Department to deliver quality products on time and at cost.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by implementing Standardized Work, refining assembly line processes, and reducing overall assembly costs.

  • Improve quality performance by reducing NCRs, scrap, rework, and internal/external quality escapes.

  • Develop strong teamwork, motivation, and communication across Assembly and Assembly Support Staff, including Planning and Stores.

  • Facilitate and maintain daily SQCDP Team Meetings to support operational excellence.

  • Ensure all team members receive appropriate and effective training.

  • Participate in budgeting activities, including operating costs and capital expenditures.

  • Schedule and forecast workloads with the Assembly Program Planner to ensure proper capacity planning for personnel and equipment.

  • Collaborate with internal departments including Finance, Human Resources, Quality, Engineering, and other shared services.

  • Maintain compliance with company rules, procedures, collective agreements, and Employment Standards Act requirements.

  • Coordinate Assembly and Test activities with PPMs.

  • Ensure strong shop organization and safety through effective FOD control, housekeeping/5S, and Health & Safety practices.

  • Lead the resolution of technical issues in collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams

 Qualifications:

  • University degree or College diploma in Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an assembly environment, preferably aerospace.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a results‑driven mindset.

  • Familiarity with aerospace components, hydraulics, electronics, manufacturing processes, and quality control.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive and innovative approach.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, ShopVue, and solid understanding of shop floor control systems.

  • Experience supervising or managing in a unionized environment is an asset.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems and shop floor control techniques.

  • Strong understanding of Aerospace Quality Standards.

  • Ability to work shift work or support operations outside regular business hours if required.

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
